PTA and Accountability

Introducing the updated School Insights to provide more information about our school.

Prospect Valley PTA

What is PTA?
Prospect Valley’s Parent Teacher Association supports our families, teachers, and staff and helps nurture a strong community that promotes connection, inclusion and fun.
We typically meet on the first Thursday of the month. Watch the Flash and the PTA Facebook page for meeting info. Even if you can’t attend the meetings, we’d love to have you as a part of our PTA!

Why join PTA?

-- PTA is a great way to meet other families and connect within the Prospect Valley community!
-- Joining PTA is one of the best ways you can support your students and our amazing PV staff.
-- Get involved and stay in-the-know about upcoming events at PV.
-- PTA members plan school events and activities that help make PV a special -place such as: The Carnation Festival float, Special Person's Day, the PV Fun Run, Battle of the Books, Bike/Walk to School Day, Staff Appreciation Week, Teacher Wish Lists and many more!
-- PTA members get a voice (a vote!) in how our fundraising dollars are spent. ------This is your chance to be an advocate for our students and their educational experience at Prospect Valley.

How much are dues?
Annual dues are just $15 for Parents, Guardians and Community Members, $6.25 for PV Staff Members and new for the

Accountability (formerly PIE)

Accountability is a cooperative team of parents, teachers, our principal, and members of the community. It is an advisory board that works on addressing educational goals, school objective and improvement planning, goal setting, listening and supporting parent feedback, and maintaining an open and welcoming environment.

Here are some of the issues we discuss and promote:
- Curriculum and School Policies
- Safety & Health Initiatives
- Accelerating Our Below-Grade-Level Learners
- Challenging Our Advanced Learners
- Accreditation and Budget
- Outreach to Non-English-Speaking Families
- Welcoming Environment

We are in need of volunteer parents who are interested in participating in small groups focusing on specific issues. This is one of the most effective ways of contributing to your child's learning environment.

Please consider offering your time, expertise, and talent, or just come and share your concerns with the Prospect Valley principal, teachers, and other parents on topics to strengthen our school.

Join us for our Accountability meetings on the third Thursday's of the month in the school library at 3:00PM. Look for Flash announcements and signs at school.

Snacks and babysitting will be available.

Thank you.
